| บทคัดย่อโครงการ | In the context of global efforts to promote sustainable development and lifelong learning, integrating local culture and wisdom into educational practices is increasingly vital, particularly in marginalized regions like Thailand’s southern border provinces. Despite the recognized potential of community-based learning (CBL) to foster lifelong skills, there remains a gap in understanding how local cultural resources can be systematically leveraged to enhance learning outcomes in such contexts. This qualitative study explores the role of local culture and wisdom in fostering lifelong learning skills within four districts of Songkhla province, southern Thailand, focusing on two community enterprises: Baan Khuan Jedi Curry Paste Enterprise and Baan Kolomudo Mushroom Cultivation and Processing Enterprise. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, focus group discussions with 30 participants, and field notes over six months, employing thematic analysis to identify key patterns. The findings revealed that both enterprises successfully integrated local culture and wisdom, with 78% of respondents endorsing community learning centers (CLCs) to sustain these efforts. Community engagement, sustainable resource use, and a focus on quality drove product development and market expansion, fostering skills like problem-solving and collaboration. However, challenges such as limited resources and shifting market demands were noted. The study highlights the innovative use of experiential learning to transmit cultural knowledge, proposing CLCs as hubs for curriculum design aligned with local wisdom. These outcomes contribute to theoretical frameworks for CBL by demonstrating how cultural integration enhances lifelong learning. Practically, the study recommends multi-sectoral support for human resource development and cultural tourism to sustain these initiatives. By aligning with Sustainable Development Goals 4 and 11, this research offers actionable insights for policymakers and educators, advocating for scalable CLC models and comparative studies to deepen understanding of lifelong learning in diverse contexts. |
