| บทคัดย่อโครงการ | This study aims to investigate the conduct of tour guides and the factors influencing the significance of pre-snorkeling briefing content regarding the marine environment. Research instruments included non-participant observation and self-administered survey questionnaires. The quota sampling method was employed to select snorkeling tour guides operating within Hat Chao Mai National Park, Trang Province, and Mu Ko Lanta Marine National Park, Krabi Province, Thailand, during the period from June 1 to December 30, 2022. The findings revealed that only 10 percent of snorkeling tour guides provided briefings related to the marine environment. Statistical analysis, conducted using the R program for Multiple Linear Regression Analysis with the Weighted Sum Contrasts method, suggests that completion of a tour operator diving/snorkeling course in the coral reef area is the only factor significantly associated with the perceived importance of marine environmental briefing contents (p-value = 0.001). Tour guides who have undergone such training express a higher average importance level regarding the content of marine environmental briefing compared to their untrained counterparts. This indicates that training has been identified as a major factor influencing tour guides' performance. There is a notable gap in knowledge and awareness among the majority of snorkeling tour guides regarding this crucial aspect of ecology and the marine environment. |
